Coach Carter Inducted into Barton College Hall of Fame

Caley Carter was a graduate of Great Bend High School and made a huge impact during her two years at Barton Community College.

Carter played both volleyball and track and field during the 1999 and 2000 school years.

Carter, now married as Caley Knudsen, was inducted into the Barton Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Carter helped lead the Cougars to a 98-14 record while earning all-conference and all-region in both of her two seasons. Carter is ranked second in school history on the career kills chart.

The two-sport star also excelled in track and field helping the women’s team to four national titles and five All-American performances at the national championships.

In her first season in 2013, Carter took a team with no freshman and guided the Ladies to more than double the wins from the prior season. She also saw Centenary record its first conference win since 2007, a five-set victory over Austin. Centenary went 4-1 in matches that went the distance in 2013.

In 2015, the Ladies broke the record for aces in a match, finishing with 30 against Rust October 21, 2015. In her first three season, Centenary finished in the top-3 for aces per set twice in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, including leading the conference with 1.71 aces per set in 2015.
