Paul McCartney was not rejected from Tyga's Grammy afterparty according to staff at the venue
A representative for The Argyle in Hollywood said that McCartney had been trying to go to Mark Ronson's party at Hyde when he showed up Monday
They said that after McCartney was told about the mistake he moved on, and they would have let him in if he decided to stay
McCartney was joined by wife Nancy Shevell, Beck, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and Woody Harrelson - who also confused the venue
Tyga, who was performing at the party, said earlier on Tuesday he had nothing to do with the snub
He also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night joking about the incident and inviting McCartney to his LA show later this month
Paul McCartney was denied access to Tyga's Grammy afterparty Monday night because he turned up at the wrong event.
The iconic singer was denied entrance at The Argyle in Hollywood because he believed he was at Hyde Sunset Kitchen & Cocktail, where Mark Ronson was hosting a party with Republic Records.
A representative for The Argyle told TMZ that McCartney went on his way when he realized his mistake and added that they would have happily let the singer in if he had decided to stay and party.
Tyga later appeared on Jimmy Kimmel live to speak about the incident, and was asked by Kimmel if he thought McCartney would respond with a 'diss track'.
He said he did not think so as McCartney was the 'O.G.' (original gangster) but did invite him to his show on February 26 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
He also said that he was just paid to show up at the event and perform, and had no control over the guest list.
Earlier in the day Tyga said that he had nothing to do with McCartney being denied access to the party, but stopped short of actually apologizing to the iconic singer.
'I don't control the door. I had no knowledge SIR PAUL was there. I just performed and left,' wrote Tyga on Twitter Tuesday morning.
'Why would I deny @PaulMcCartney stop it. He's a legend.'
One guest who did get into the club, Bow Wow, had a more interesting response when told about what happened at The Argyle in Hollywood on Monday night.
The singer turned actor said after learning McCartney could not get past the bouncer; 'Maybe it’s the fact that we’re younger than Paul . . . and we really club and we really go out.'
